Bangalore Womens Group Outing

ChukkiMane wholeheartedly welcomes many women groups from in and around Bangalore. However, this group from H.S.R Layout was quite special to us as the group consisted of many kids accompanied by their mothers and the common factor was that the children belonged to the same swimming school at H.S.R Layout, Bangalore.

The first best part was the innocence of the little kids and the second was the wonderful bond shared between the mothers as this shows the true sign of happiness. The friendship had taken a beautiful shape and the entire credit for this good change goes to the little sweethearts as they had joined a hobby class to learn an additional skill apart from their Academics.

On the day of their arrival, they were welcomed by the team with an appetizer made out of the lemon followed by the South Indian Breakfast prepared by our catering team headed by Mr. Rajesh. After having the stomach full of yummy breakfast the little kids were recharged and all-set for adventures at ChukkiMane. The activities began with a short overview of the purpose behind turning the dream of bringing out the beautiful rural enterprise into a reality. Then a nature walk throughout the premises of the farm and this made the children learn better about nature activities apart from the pictures and videos that they had seen in Books, T.V. Channels and their Smart Classes at schools. Even the mothers learned a lot about the “Practical Methods of Farming, Usage of Organic Fruits and Vegetables without any preservatives added to them, Conservation of Soil, Methods to Conserve Water” and many other concepts to maintain the sustainable development of nature as “There is no age for Learning”.

After the nature walk, the kids wanted to practice some of their swimming lessons and also have fun with their buddies and that is when we allotted them the water pond of ChukkiMane. They had some fun while the mothers spent their time chatting with each other and relaxing in a carefree manner.

Kids enjoyed the Swimming activity for more than an hour and then chose to play the traditional games. This helped mothers to relive their childhood and also teach the little folks about what real childhood is all about as it is the only phase with no major responsibilities of life and one can enjoy to the core.

Soon it was noon and the whole group headed for lunch. They enjoyed the authentic Mysore-style Cuisine consisting of Poori, Saagu, Kosambari, Lemon rice, Payasam, Rice, Sambar, Gravy, Raagi Mudde(Raagi Balls in English) and some of the wonderful Papads and fresh vegetable salads.

The ladies were surprised and overwhelmed by the wonderful execution of the eco -friendly ideas implemented at ChukkiMane. They made a point to try these ideas at their houses and also teach the same thing to the young minds.

After lunch, they took a tour towards the streets of Javaganahalli Village in Bullock Carts and this made the school-going kids understand the other side of the life led in the rural areas beyond the life that they had seen in a city “Bangalore”.

The rural children and the way they spoke, dressed and the games that they played were a way different from their life in the metro and this amazed our city toddlers as they had never seen such things before. The children decided to narrate the stories of Javaganahalli Village to their fathers and grandparents on reaching their homes.

The next stop was to visit the Temples of Talakadu and the Gaganachukki and Barachukki Waterfalls. The whole group enjoyed the beauty of the temples and a spectacular view of falls.

Finally, it was time for the group to head back to ChukkiMane. Further at ChukkiMane, the troupe had hi-tea along with some crunchy munchy snacks served to the cutie pies and the group bid a farewell to the team and left the place with the remembrance of the things that they did throughout the day.
