Responsible Tourism Policy

Responsible Tourism is essentially about “making places better for people to live in and places better for people to visit”.

Through ChukkiMane we continuously try to build an environmentally and socio-culturally sustainable form of tourism. This will provide an economic uplift for the participating communities, at the same time offering tourists a unique experience by introducing them to the local people, culture, and cuisine.

We are advocates for the transition to sustainable farm management practices, as it works to build resilience to climate change as well as to limit greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.

By implementing various modern practices we have strived for an almost carbon neutral agro-tourist destination.

  1. Setting up Solar Panels
  2. No Air-conditioning
  3. No DC Generators
  4. E-waste Recycling setup
  5. Unique used water distribution management
  6. Guest rooms with skylights (Natural Ventilation)
  7. Organic Soaps
  8. Plastic Free zone

On the socio-economic side, we strive to make tourism the vehicle for the development of the neighboring villages and local communities. Our mission aspires to provide an additional income and a better livelihood to farmers, traditional artisans, and marginalized people.

We embraced the concept of Rural tourism with the aim of protecting the village life of Karnataka. The main highlight of this idea is that it ensures public participation in tourism development thereby supporting farmers, local villagers, artists, and more.

As part of the Village Tourism, we offer our guests experiences such as:

  1. Bullock Cart rides
  2. Traditional Meals
  3. Village Walks
  4. Stories and performances by traditional artists
  5. Traditional indoor games
  6. Farming activities
